UPDATE: I spoke too soon! Adding catSort.drag.cancel() fixed the one problem (dragging the parent catSort when attempting to drag the workSort), but it created a bunch of new ones. I tried a whole bunch of things in a mad rush of trying to fix things, but each fix would cause something else to break. (All I could think the whole time was of someone trying to plug a leak with their finger, only to find another one shooting out next to it...). As it turns out, one thing solved everything: edit...
